miraculous simplicity

“There are no ordinary moments.” A customer reminded me of this fact. I didn’t realize I had forgotten. I’ve been flying through life treating each moment as though it is ordinary. It has stripped my life of it’s usual joy. I’ve also noticed it in my photography. My ‘photo of the day’ series has become very ‘ordinary’ and ‘hum-drum’. I haven’t been rejoicing in the simple things.
I want to commit to doing that again. For, “Earth is crammed with Heaven, and every common bush is on fire with God”. I want to be the ‘one who sees and takes off her shoes, not one of those who sit around eating blackberries’. I want my photos to remind myself of the simple everyday miracles, the incredible beauty of each moment. Be it the smile of a child, the dew glistening on the grass, or weather beaten brick. I want life’s little moments to remind me of the God who lets each one unfold, the miracle of His grace and mercy, His unfathomable love.
So if you notice me becoming ‘ordinary minded’. Slap me upside the head. :) Remind me that no moment is ordinary, and that earth truly is crammed with Heaven.

Brittany girl, I so loved seeing this part of your soul. You had a wise customer, and I love that quote. I love what you shared here...it's beautiful.

and these pictures? there's something different about them. They remind me of miracles.

Keep it up girl. ;) Can't wait to see more how you 'see' life with this perspective! :D
