So here is my attempt at a blog entry that is done decently and in order. . .
SMBI was wonderful, terrible, incredible, and life-changing. I would recommend anyone to go. You learn lots and make oodles of good friends.
My classes were “Urban Evangelism” and “2 Corinthians”. I had the same teacher for both of those classes, a fine gentlemen named, Clayton Shenk. He was (and still is) an incredible teacher. He challenged me to get out of my comfort zone, to never compromise --not even a little, and to make God my driving passion.
The girl that left for SMBI is not the girl that returned. No worries, I’m still Brittany but there are a lot of things that are different. Some of those things you will see and hear, others you might never encounter. I’m hoping that the Brittany that came back will be a better Brittany. A Brittany that follows her Saviour with all her heart, a Brittany who loves people right where they are, a Brittany who compromises less, and a Brittany who isn’t afraid of telling people where she stands even if it means that she will stand alone.
My life looks a lot different since I’ve come back from SMBI. When I left I thought I knew what would be happening in my life within the next year. Two evenings took care of that. . . One evening my heart was dashed into a million pieces, and another evening my heart was filled with hope and healing. Because of those two evenings some of the things that I wanted and planned on doing aren’t going to happen. At least not this year. God asked me to put those on hold for a little. I’m not really sure what this next year will hold for me. It’s kind of scary. But I know from past experience that God’s plans are always better than mine. I may not know what all will happen this next year but I do know that it will be above all that I could ever ask or think. That, my friends, is very exciting!!
I do know what will be happening in the immediate future though. On Wednesday, we leave for PA for a family reunion, and for all of you who care to know, it will be at SMBI. (hint, hint) Next week my family and I will be hopping into a truck that’s towing a camper and heading for the far north, Canada to be exact. We will be at NYP/BLC for the summer. My parents are discipleship directors. I’m a photographer/nanny/craft teacher/counselor. (I don’t know if I’ll actually do all those things but I will pretty much just be helping where ever I’m needed) My brothers will be. They have no specific job at present so they will probably get to do a little of everything. If you think of us you can pray for us. I have a feeling that the camper is going to get really small after 6 weeks. . . We’ve done this before (lived in a camper for 6 weeks, that is) and lets just say it can get a little messy. Also pray that we can be Jesus to the kids that come for camp. (for those of you who don’t know, there is 1 week of teen camp, and 3 weeks of kids camps) Some of them can be a challenge to love. I will keep you updated. . . Ok, I will try to keep you updated.

If you're in Canada, it's "counsellor", I think. They do British speling. Uh, spelling.
Hey Brit,
I'm sorry for not commenting sooner. I really did enjoy your update and to know what's going on now. Glad you had such a great time and that God worked in your life - that is always a wonderful thing.
Wow...you are busy. Going, going, going. Must be like the Energizer bunny. May God grant you safe travels today as y'all are heading to PA and next week as you go to Canada.
God has been good to use in bringing us together as friends, and I'm excited for you about what God is going to do.
I can't wait to see some pictures, of anything! I've missed seeing Brittany pictures! =-) [not necessarily pictures of you, but pictures you've taken...although I wouldn't complain if it was the former as well!]
Love you tons girl!!! God with God and don't ever give up. I know He won't - He isn't finished with you yet and it's just amazing to know He has a perfect plan.
Talk to you soon!
Ruth Ann
