A long lost blogger makes her return

We had a youth Valentines which was actually a bit of a fund raiser. Ok so it was a fund raiser nothing more, nothing less. The guys served the food while the girls filled and refilled bowls for them to serve then we had a silent auction. All of us youth auctioned some services off. (cleaning, car wash, mowing, babysitting, etc) It was fun. Turned out pretty good too. We got enough for our mission trip that we're hoping to do sometime this spring/early summer. We're planning on going somewhere in Mississippi to help with hurricane rebuilding. (did I say that right?) I think it will be great fun. It also sounds incredibly hot. . .

My lovely aunt turned 30. Mom and I got her 30 gifts together then we had a birthday party at our place. 'Twas merely family involved, nothing big. After we got all the smoke alarms fixed we had a great time. =) (k so that didn't happen. . .)

My parents left this morning for Phoenix, Arizona. So it is just my brothers and I at home right now. Scary, no?? Hopefully we'll make it through this next week. Pretty sure I'm gonna get tired of being the boss. My subjects usually revolt about halfway through. I'm not so good with keeping everybody happy. They end up thinking I'm a tyrant and I end up wondering how the world mom and dad do it. I am usually quite eager to hand back my crown when they come back.

I went to an Andrew Peterson, Resurrection Letters concert. It was really really good. I've been to his Christmas concert twice and wasn't sure how this would compare. It's right up there. I'd say they're about equal in goodness. He has such a way of capturing the beauty of the story of salvation. The Resurrection Letters is an Easter concert. Really homes in on our unworthinesses and God's great love. It brought the beautiful mystery back into Easter for me. I've heard the story so often it's like I've gotten numb to it. To just sit there and think about it was really good for me.

Somewhere above the stars that light up the night.
Somewhere beyond the planets that are spinning, spinning.
A God is looking down.
As the earth rotates, rotates, He's watching.
A father kills his baby, He's watching.
A woman weeps for joy, He's watching.
His eyes are everywhere.
In the face of the homeless child.
In the feet of a broken heart.
In the arms of a wounded healer.
His blood is pouring. No one cares.
The world keeps on rotating, rotating.
The planets keep on spinning spinning.
The blood remains untouched--
A gift not received,
Because it costs nothing, and yet it costs everything.
Somewhere above the night sky, there is a God looking down.
A groom anxious to find his bride.
His eyes are everywhere.
His blood is pouring even still.
We remain untouched.
A love much better than any lovers resides inside his heart.
He longs for His bride.
We refuse to accept this beautiful mystery.
Continually we work to save ourselves.
His eyes are watching, His heart is breaking
